Jets' Shaun Ellis Suspended One Game, Fined $100,000 New York Jets defensive end Shaun Ellis has been suspended for the first regular-season game and fined an additional $100,000 for violating the National Football substance abuse policy. Ellis was arrested for marijuana possession in Hanover Township, New Jersey, in November. He will miss the opener against the Houston Texans on Sept. 13, the team and league said in a statement. Ellis has totaled 61 1/2 sacks during his nine-year career and was named to the 2003 Pro Bowl. He is the second player on the Jets in 2009 to miss time for violating the drug policy, joining linebacker Calvin Pace.News for Friday 15 January, 2010
